Established in year 1999 by the J2 batch of AFMC, this club has grown in strength over the years. It was born out of the shared concern for a social cause after the students visit to Manavya, an NGO working for the care of HIV positive orphans. There was an amount of rs. 25000 as a balance after basketball week function which was converted to a corpus to start the Prayas Club. The first officer in charge of this club was Wg Cdr Mandeep Singh (now Maj Gen) and patron was Maj Gen V W Tilak, then Dean. Medical Cadet Uday was the first student secretary of this club.
